„Communication and Psychological Aspects of Excellent Long-Term Field Research" is the title of the concept paper that analyses the training programme. This document can serve as a basis for developing specific training courses across the Faculty of Science MU in the following years. The document was created based on the action plan of the implemented The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).

This document also played a role in preparing the Crisis Communication and Teamwork in Antarctica training. This training aimed to equip the participants of the upcoming expedition with soft competencies in the areas of crisis communication with a focus on emerging crises within the team and caused by external circumstances, working with prejudices and diversity in the team (age, cultural, gender, seniority related to academic career, etc.). The specific training was a follow-up to the already implemented training on management skills: Crisis Management Beyond the Arctic Circle, which took place at the beginning of 2024.

Mgr. Michal Hummel and Mgr. Radek Šíp from Practical Psychology Brno professionally handled the roles of lecturers. The tandem of lecturers was carefully selected in cooperation with representatives of the Department of Geography SCI MUNI, CARP Manager Ing. Pavel Kapler, PhD, and Development Specialist of the SCI MUNI, Mgr. Eliška Sobotková. Thanks to this detailed preparation, the training was tailor-made. Initial internal meetings with management, standardized individual psychodiagnostics and case studies were professionally prepared for CARP. The employees evaluated the all-day training very positively, which the feedback form confirmed.

We would like to thank everyone for their participation. We hope the knowledge gained will contribute positively to the smooth running of the next expedition beyond the Arctic Circle.
