Training - Gender Biases Against Women
As part of Gender Equality Plan MU (GEP), a training session focused on the issue of gender stereotypes.
At the beginning of September 2022 we had an opportunity to visit the University of Potsdam, an institution that is a holder of the successfully renewed HR Excellence in Research Award for the next certification period. We travelled together with colleagues from other MU faculties - Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Studies, Faculty of Economy and Pedagogical faculty. Our main host was Dr. Tina Urbach, HR Award coordinator.
The aim of the meeting was to share practical experience and inspiration, we also got tips and advice for the implementation phase of the project we are currently in - preparation for the Faculty’s HR Excellence in Research Award Renewal including Site Visit alias personal assessment performed by the European Commission representatives, which we expect in 2024. During the program we introduced Masaryk University, its structure and also status of the HR Award implementation at individual university units. Afterwards, we discussed specific topics: training and development of early stage researchers, internationalization, research activities and their sources of funding, gender equality and anti-discrimination, recruitment and other interesting areas. We believe that the information and experience gained will be utilized at our faculty, that the best practices we shared enriched our hosts and we thank our hosts for their warm welcome.

In May 2024, we launched an analytical phase of the project "Introducing a Flexible Working Culture and a Support System for Parents on Maternity and Parental Leave into the Working Environment of the MU Faculty of Science" as part of the Employment Plus Operational Programme (OPZ+). This phase includes a gender equality audit, featuring structured individual and group interviews with our employees, led by an auditor.
