Afternoon with Chemistry: Boundaries of the Periodic Table
-
29 September 2021
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM - University Campus Brno-Bohunice, Building D29 (Recetox), lecture room 252
Periodic table of elements has been here for more than 150 years and is still joyfully growing. What kind of new elements can still appear? Can the periodic table grow "downwards", towards the elements with proton numbers less than one? What do we know about the chemistry of the exotic elements and can a periodic table of non-existent elements exist?
The lecture will be held by prof. Petr Slavíček, Head of the Dpt. of Physical Chemistry at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. His main field of research lies in theoretical chemistry, radiation chemistry and photochemistry.
The lecture will be in Czech language.
Registration is open till Sept 29, 2021, please use this link.
