Navrhovaný projekt je zaměřen na kompletní výzkum základních složek polárních eko- a geo-systémů a procesů v nich probíhajících. Projekt využívá různých časových měřítek procesů, má modulární strukturu a kombinuje přístupy oborů: klimatologie, geomorfologie, glaciologie, pedologie, limnologie, mikrobiologie, obecná biologie, ekologie, stresová ekofyziologie, Projekt je zaměřen na multidisciplinární výzkum s důrazem na propojenost jednotlivých modulů: klimatologie, geomorfologie, glaciologie a experimentální biologické disciplíny. Realizace projektu je zaměřena na posílení intrumentálního vybavení Infrastruktury polárního výzkumu (CzechPolar) v laboratořích na půdě Masarykovy univerzity Brno a partnera projektu JČU České Budějovice.
