The ability of some animals to detect the earth's magnetic field is considered as confirmed today. Nevertheless, compared with other sensory modalities, it still remains rather blurred and the actual nature of reception as well as its localization in bod y are generally unknown. Several hypotheses have been put forward trying to explain the observed effects. In insects a number of positive magnetoreception results has been published during last decades but the sufficient attention to the experimental lay outs and proper description from today's point of view is seldom. A number of experiments later fail to yield corresponding results when repeated by other authors. The proposer assumes it useful to carefully verify some of them inspite of the fact they a re still cited repeatedly or just due to this fact. The aim of proposed work is to verify almost thirty years old experiments that report magnetomenotaxis of the mealworm beetle (Tenebrio molitor) without having been confirmed from other sources yet.
